DENTAL IMPLANT FAQ

Dental implants have three main parts: a screw-like titanium post that’s anchored in your jaw and acts as a tooth root; a durable, natural-looking crown that enables you to chew foods normally and fills in gaps in your smile; and an abutment, which connects the other two components. The post integrates with your jawbone and becomes a permanent part of your body within a few months.

We have a process in place that enables us to precisely place your dental implants to the specifications of your mouth, making for a perfect, comfortable fit. What’s more, advanced technology allows us to completely pre-plan your procedure, making it go quicker and more smoothly, leaving less chance for complications. During the placement procedure itself, we always provide an anesthetic to keep you relaxed and pain-free.

We can restore your jawbone density and make you a candidate for dental implants with a procedure called bone grafting.

Though it’s hard to put a price on the value dental implants can provide you, several factors figure into the cost, including bone grafting, tooth extractions and the number of dental implants you need. Your dentist can help you determine your actual cost during a consultation here in our Ashland, MA office. Schedule your visit soon!

Dental implants are practically indistinguishable from natural teeth and require the very same type of care. Remember to brush and floss two times daily and visit us for regular cleanings.

While dentures are a time-tested solution, dental implants integrate with the jaw just like natural tooth roots, preserve your jawbone health, and mirror natural teeth in look, feel and function. Dental implants never slip and don’t require adhesives.

Usually after the second day the discomfort starts tapering down and by week one you are pretty much back to normal. Our patients usually take a day or two off. If your work requires physical activity it is better to add a couple more days to help with healing of the implants.

All-on-four treatment has different stages, like the surgical part, the prosthetic and healing part. Many oral surgery practices do only the surgery and they send you back to the referral dentist for the teeth. When the treatment is split between different dentists they can tell you only their fees, If you see a low price you may want to investigate more if it covers only a part of the treatment. In the end what matters is what you pay in total. At Nuarch by Dr. Sal, your whole treatment is completed under one roof by Dr. Sal; surgery, anesthesia, follow up visits, provisional and permanent Zirconia Teeth. You will be given one price that will not change throughout your treatment.

Dentures are the most cost effective solution for missing teeth but it comes with many challenges.  Since it is simply sitting on your gums it is almost impossible to keep it in place. Many of our patients are previous denture users and they report that they can’t wear them when they eat, food gets underneath them, it rocks side to side as they try to chew, and they have these embarrassing moments of them falling out as they talk to people. In short, dentures lead to various types of stresses due to the difficulty of using them. In this era people are not stuck with dentures and it is not the only option anymore. Dental implants are the closest solution to natural teeth, and they help patients to live their lives to the fullest. You don’t have to restrict your social or work life because of your teeth.

Dental Implants are titanium posts that are anchored into the jaw bone. Once they integrate with bone they are there to stay however imbalanced forces on the implants can lead to failures. Dr. Sal utilizes the healing teeth as a guide to fine tune the biting forces and watches the chewing function carefully.

At Nuarch By Dr. Sal we stand behind our work and offer a 10 year warranty on the Zirconia Teeth. If anything happens to the implants during the treatment process we replace them for you at no charge.

Full arch dental implant treatment is a half day procedure. Dr. Sal removes the remaining teeth, places the dental implants on strategic predetermined positions, supports the implants and the bone with additional bone graft material for healthy healing. During this time he gives both local anesthesia and conscious sedation medication, which result in total patient comfort. Our patients said they felt no pain during the procedure. Following the procedure he’d prescribe pain medication for the night time and our patients are comfortable using tylenol and Advil during the day.

There are several differences from the surgical part to prosthetics. The major difference is that implant supported dentures have to be removed and need to be kept in a cup overnight since they can trap food underneath, and it is a type of plastic material. All-on-four is secured into the implants with permanent screws and only your dentist can remove them. It is a healthier permanent teeth solution.

he zirconia material is so polished that nothing sticks to it and the underneath is designed in a way that the food is flushed away from the gums. Our team at Nuarch designs the prosthetic teeth nice and snug against the gums so it doesn’t allow any food debris to pass through.  We recommend our patients to use waterpik to jet water at the gum-prosthetic interface so they keep everything clean and fresh.
